Student Council

The Student Council at Greenland School plays a vital role in nurturing leadership, responsibility, and active participation among students. It is a representative body composed of elected student leaders who act as a bridge between the student community and school administration. Through this platform, students learn to voice their opinions, collaborate on initiatives, and work towards the collective good of the school.

Our Student Council is formed through a democratic process that encourages students to campaign, debate, and participate in elections—instilling a real-world understanding of democratic values and civic duties. Positions such as Head Boy, Head Girl, House Captains, Cultural Secretaries, and Discipline In-Charges are filled by deserving candidates based on their leadership qualities, academic performance, and student vote.

The council organizes and leads various school events, celebrations, and campaigns. From managing morning assemblies and organizing inter-house competitions to spearheading awareness drives and community service programs, the Student Council ensures that school life remains vibrant and meaningful. Their involvement fosters teamwork, creativity, and event management skills.

In addition to organizing activities, the Student Council takes on a mentoring role. Senior members guide younger students, helping them adjust to school life and encouraging participation in extracurricular and academic pursuits. This peer support system builds a strong sense of community, respect, and cooperation within the student body.

The council also serves as a forum where students can raise concerns, suggest improvements, and contribute to the decision-making process on matters that affect their day-to-day life. School leadership values their input, and meetings with faculty members are held regularly to discuss feedback and implement positive changes.

At Greenland School, we believe that true education extends beyond textbooks. Through the Student Council, we empower our students to become confident, responsible, and socially aware individuals. This early experience in leadership and governance prepares them for greater roles in the future, both within their communities and in the wider world.
